I have a delicious green smoothie recipe for you today! Green smoothies are a huge part of the cleanse I am currently on and something that is a staple of my diet anyway. I am always looking for new flavors of smoothie so I can keep it interesting and tasty.
Strawberry-Coconut-Kale Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 large handfuls torn kale (at least 2 cups)
- Handful of washed strawberries (5-6)
- 1 scoop raw, vegan protein powder (I used Sunwarrior), optional
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 cup almond milk
Directions
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. For a thicker shake, use less almond milk.
Why double up on the fats (chia & coconut oil)? Well, did you know that coconut oil acts as a potentiator for chia seeds, meaning it makes the omega-3s and nutrients in the chia even more beneficial to your body. Plus chia adds a little extra fiber to this smoothie and coconut oil is beneficial to your metabolism as well as beauty (bonus!).


What an interesting yet tasty sounding combination. Now that the warm weather is here I definitely want to give this a try
Can you tell me what kind of protein specifically is in the Sun Warrior? I looked them up online and it just said plant based non soy protein.
It is bio-fermented sprouted brown rice protein.
